iGaming Ontario (iGO) is the subsidiary of the AGCO that regulates online casinos and sportsbooks for Ontario residents. To operate in the province an operator has to sign an agreement with iGO, meet capital requirements and pay 20% of gross gaming revenue as a levy. Operators that do not hold an AGCO licence — including offshore casinos — are technically prohibited from marketing to Ontario residents, and cannot open new accounts using an Ontario address.
No. Pinnacle operates under an offshore licence. That means Ontario residents cannot register on the Pinnacle platform with an Ontario billing address — the account will be blocked at KYC. Players from Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Atlantic provinces are not affected and can use the site normally.
Ontario players who want to stay within the AGCO framework should look at licenced operators. If you specifically want a Pinnacle-like experience (low margins, high limits, reduced juice) — there is currently no direct equivalent among iGO-licenced brands.
Regardless of the operator, set deposit and time limits from the account settings page. ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) provides free, confidential support for problem gambling in Ontario.
